So here's a 4 shot HANDHELD POLE MOUNTED example from the Sunex lens, shot on a Canon 400D at the Focus on Imaging Show here in the UK:

www.360tacticalvr.co.uk/showcase/sunex/pole_test/

Note; this is currently a 3MB file. I'll upload a smaller version later.

This is a hand-held pole mounted system with NO NODAL POINT setup at all. The pole system is supplied by Ian Toms of Focalpoint www.focalpoint2000.co.uk and the images were stitched using REALVIZ Stitcher 5.6.2

We simply attached the lens to a Canon 400D, mounted the camera on the body tripod mount to the pole system and raised the pole up then took 4 x shots, while the pole was being handheld, so there is of course some movement and mis-alignment. We also took a 3 shot test but I have not yet had time to stitch the images.

Email me at info@360tacticalvr.co.uk for the source images.

Considering the circumstances under which we took this image, I think it's come out quite well, what do you think?

I haven't seen results like that hand held.
Thanks for all of your comment to thread on the forums - your comments have really helped me in my quest for quality panos.
I have one question for you if its ok......i am looking to make some prints of my spherical panos and i am not sure how to increase the dpi to 300.
Would really appreciate your advise.

Thanks :jap:

Hi Yamajin,

Glad you found the info useful. That's what a forum is for.

I think Doug has answered your DPI question already?
