Coz I wanted to buy it, but it cost an eye.... I was wondering if Realviz would rent an app like that... I would not need a soft like this in my everyday jobs,  (mostly architectural) but on some occasions, I have been ask to do a job that requires a tracking software....

Cheers

sorry if i sounded a bit angry in my last reply... but i'm pretty much fed up with a lot of people asking me if i'm using warez because somebody at my age (20) cannot have a full version of matchmover or cinema 4d or premiere etc. but it is possible!
sorry again :)

realviz had a pay per use offer for their software some time ago. this would be the best thing for you. or contact me and i'll do the tracking for you - would be cool for both of us!

you can watch the process of my site here:
http://www.pixellusion.de/betai hope to get some more vfx stuff online soon but it's a really slow process - almost no freetime for my personal projects :(

luxembourg - nice! i'm located in krefeld which is next to düsseldorf or cologne
not the best location for vfx production ;)

hi stryker1080 :)

i wish i could find some time to write a tutorial. currently i'm moving to munich because i've been accepted as a matchmover at ca scanline (german vfx studio). some months ago i already started a tutorial but it's far from completion yet. but i will post a link to the finished piece in this forum!

best,
basti :)

thanks alot :) really aprreciate it, can you address making a WORKING coordinate system and how to use the nodal/pan.. Essentialy it is a 2d track but how can you put 3d into it using 3dsmax, i couldnt see how it would work... but mostly i would appreciate making coord system, i could not get it to work.. and thanks for alll your work, its fantastic!

hi stryker

i'm sorry but it's not possible to create a working coordinate system for a tripod shot in matchmover. this is because you will not get any 3d information with a locked down camera. all your tracking points are alingned on a big sphere. it ist possible to create a coordinate system with some nice reference frames.
but the best way will be to track the tripod shot in matchmover, export to 3ds max and align the camera properly in max.

best,
basti :)

Ok i tracked with a Nodal Pan for camera and solved it, it matched very nicely.. I exported it to max, and the points line up perfectly with what is moving... Great  :) .. One problem tho. How can i use it, i created a floor to match the floor in my video however its not a straight floor... I had to stretch one side of the floor and shrink otherside to match the floor in the video, then the camera tracking worked nicely... But i cant have a deformed floor like that, i need a floor with perpendicular corners ... Is there any way to create geometry that will be a plane but set it so that when i look through my tracked camera it will match the tracking?

To make it straight looking in camera, look how my plane has to be:
http://members.shaw.ca/stryker1080/straight.jpg

This will make it hard for me to animate things, i want my plane to look like this but when i use it look how it looks through the camere:

http://members.shaw.ca/stryker1080/crooked.jpg

WHAT CAN I DO? Is there anything i can do?

hi stryker :)

this is the hard part of matchmoving ... to match the geometry. try to group your camera+points and move/rotate the camera into the right place. this is very tricky and can take a lot of time.

some important things:
do you know your camera's focal lenght and filmback width? its almost impossible to get a good match without them.

hehe actualy i got it working by using helper frames.. i was trying to solve with nodal pan but i needed actual 3d points and not a 2d solve.. works great now:) thanks for all the help

yeah helper frames rock :) you can achieve some very accurate geometry with their help.

no problem, glad to help.. would be cool to see you final shot!
