Hello,

Here you can download a MatchMover 3.1 sample project of a character motion capture.
Included is the footage, the project and some export files (Maya, FBX, TRC).

Can MatchMover Pro 3.1 convert the points into bones?
How can you actually use this point cloud in character animation?

Thanks

Hello,

Importing the FBX or the MotionAnalysis TRC export into software like MotionBuilder is a straightforward process to start character animation.
You're then able to link actors and characters on the moving markers.

Bones will be included in the FBX export later on, to be released soon.

Wow. Thanks for the fast replies.

You mentioned that:
"Bones will be included in the FBX export later on, to be released soon."

By that do you mean that in an soon-to-be-realeased version of MotionMover Pro (possibly 3.2?) that you can map the points to bones and export in FBX?

Thanks,

In fact, some point relations (the ones used to draw line-bones in the sample project) will be exported as bones in FBX.
This should  be included in the next build release (still v3.1, but with a new build number)

Please fill in the form at http://www.realviz.com/products/mpro/ask_DVD.php
We'll then send you the 3.1 version for evaluation.

Note: The FBX export is currently only available for the Windows platform.
Be sure to request the version 3.1.1 (build 15736) or later which includes it if needed.

Ronald,

I take it someone in marketing just changed things a bit.
Mocap is now a $5000 dollar add on until the end of March '05? Retailing at $8,000??

Is this Mocap add-on simply to convert the point cloud into bones? Why not simply use MatchMover Pro 3.1 withOUT the Mocap add-on?

What are you really getting for the Mocap add-on?

Thanks,

Hello !

The MOCAP module enables you to track non-rigid object using synchronized sequences. That includes body motion capture, facial capture and any other kind of non rigid stuff. Without it, you can still track rigid-objects.

The FBX export is something that is part of the base, so you do not need the MOCAP module to use it.

MatchMover 3.1 base price has been dropped recently and does not include any module.
The modules (MOCAP, SCRIPT) are optionnal at additional cost. Contact sales@realviz.com for details.

Thanks

Hmmm... I'm still having trouble understanding. Am I wrong in understanding the RealViz MatchMover Pro 3.1 website that when it talks about facial capture that that has NEVER been a part of the base package? Has that always been an add-on?

If that's the case where is a comprehensive listing of MatchMover's add-ons and pricing on the web??
