thanks :)

you just have to make sure that all your 2d tracks are rocksolid and enough for a good 3d solve. for these difficult shots you can completely forget any autotracker. btw i've never seen satisfying 3d solves coming from any available autotracker for difficult shots like the one above. that's why i'm not using autotracking at all. manual tracking is still the fastest way to matchmove: track a good number of points manually, check if everything fits 100%, maybe set up some constraints and then it will be no problem for the software to solve.

HI Sebastian

I have a little sample in the gallery Posted under michael juice. Of a terminator style face opening up.

I have been matchmoving for a while.

I noticed in some of your animal tracks you have what i think are mobile groups for your animals faces and also scene data for the backgrounds.

I take it that the background tracks are poviding the cooridnate system in which your camera moves through the scene whilst observing a mobile group (cat/dog face) i have managed to do this but my mobile group seems to move and rotate but when linking mesh to it in my 3d program the mesh only inherits the prosition on the mobile group and not the rotation.

It is fine if the camera remains fixed But if the camera moves as well as the mobile group i get postion but no rotation.

Any ideas? Or am i way off the mark?

thanks in advance

hi signet

sorry for my late reply.. pretty busy
here's how i'm doing these shots with moving camera and moving objects:
i'm spliiting it up into one matchmove per moving group: first i'm tracking the camera and export it, then i'm tracking my object and export it seperately. now you just have to combine it in your 3d tool of choice (i'm using cinema 4d) and you're done :)
btw, there's a new shot in the gallery

hope to help,
basti
