If you are looking for a Camera for taking a virtual tour, I would recommend Canon Powershot G6 one of the better 5 megapixel cameras. With other models, you may need to kneel under the camera to see the LCD display so do get one with a articulating LCD screen, so that it can be easily set up on a tripod with the lens vertical, while still having its LCD display visible. A 5 megapixel resolution is more than adequate for most web based panoramas.
