Need help creating a panoramic timelapse sequence

Hi - I've been contracted to create a panoramic timelapse sequence of a day in the life of Auckland, New Zealand. So a couple of weeks ago I set up three cameras (looking straight ahead, left of centre by about 70%, and right about 70%) looking across the city, and using an interval timer they each took 400 images (so I have three sets of images - one forming the left side of the pano, one forming the middle part and the other forming the right side).

I've then created a folder and have renamed the images sequentially - 0001.jpg (Pano 1 left), 0002.jpg (Pano 1 middle), 0003.jpg (Pano 1 right), 0004.jpg (Pano 2 left), 0005.jpg (Pano 2 middle) etc....

I have successfully auto-stitched a single pano using the first images taken by each camera, and I know that works fine. I've then created a template which I have used manually to test that it repeats the process successully (I point the input to the first image in a random sequence of three i .e. the left hand image, and it picks up all three images and creates the stitched pano from it).

My question is, can I set Stitcher to repeat the process using the next 399 sets of images so that I end up with 400 panos, which I can then use to create my timelapse sequence?

I'd be very grateful for your responses.

Regards

Hi Gary!

The following assumes the use of Stitcher 5.6.2. Please see the Manual for further details about the processes described below.

If I read your question correctly, there is not a way currently to automate the entire process. You will need to manually create each pano, i.e. "New" project > "Template" stitch > "Save" project.

You can create a "Render setting" that utilizes a particular set of rendering parameters and save these settings for future use ("Render" menu > "Settings Management" tab).

Then do a "batch" render (aka the Render Queue) of your saved Stitcher projects. Important: Do not move your files around once you have saved your stitched projects, otherwise the batch will not work as the file pathways have been altered from the ones saved in the project themselves.

Looking towards the Future...
===================
There has in the past, and again just recently, been requests for a totally automated batch process where everything: "Creating a new project" > "Loading images" > "Template stitch" > "Render settings" > "Batch rendering" was done by Stitcher without user intervention (other than setting up the desired parameters for the processes involved).

All relevant source images for the yet-to-be created project would be in their own folder. Each (project) folder would then be placed in one "master" folder. Stitcher would then just have to be pointed to this master folder and told to process it. Each newly created Stitcher project file & rendered output would be placed in the corresponding folder with the source images.

All settings for each project: Template to use, Render Setting (Settings Management) could be set individually; or applied to all.

Ideally no screen activity to bog things down, just a progress bar showing the project name being processed & the number scheme (e.g. "Citadel VR - 3 of 5" ).

I have run this idea by Stitcher's project manager who said it was a feasible proposal (from a programming standpoint). Unless it was already in the works this capability would not be in the soon to be released v5.7.

Hi to All!

Following up on my description above of the totally automated batch processing - "Master Batch" - is a concept of what this interface would look like. I've tried to stay within the "batch render" interface as it currently exists.
