After several weeks of successful stitching with Stitcher 5.5.0 , the program now consistently crashes during rendering.

I'm running Mac OS 10.4.1 on G5 twin 1.8 ghz tower with 4 gb ram.

All but my email program is closed.

My files are 16 bit Tiffs and run 100 mb each, and I'm trying to stitch between three and six images.

Stitcher has been set as follows:

- Cylindrical Image, width between 7800 pixels at Best Size Ratio of 100 percent for three image stitches, and 18000 pixels at 55 percent for six image wide stitches.

- Smart lending method, no Sharpen, Lanczos4 Interpolation

- I've also tried Morph lending method. No luck.

-Render Options of LZW and USW Strip Tiff files

I've also tried the  Multi Tiff box checked. No luck.

- I select my Render Area

- I've tried Preferences > Memory set from 50 percent default down to 0 percent in stages, restarting program after changes. No luck.

None of these changes and settings seem to stop the crashing.

On the very first images that started the crashing, I threw out
the project and rebuilt the stitch, and THEN it did NOT crash, and
rendered perfectly.

Then, the next new stitch started crashing. I have not tried rebuilding that one from scratch, obviously no way to get software
to work :)

Until this weekend I was very happy with this product.

Many thanks in advance.

This seems to me like a problem in the »rightmanagement« in OSX.
Did you already tried to correct the file-rights (sorry don´t know the right word for it), you have to use the harddisk-test-app that comes with OSX.
Why didn´t you grade up from 10.4.1 to 10.4.11? This can also help.
