Hi All,

Perforatus passed on some advice received from Realviz regarding rendering layered photoshop files while booted into OSX 10.4.6 (it worked for me, I've successfully rendered a layered photoshop file while booted into 10.4.6). I'm posting it in its own thread so that it's more easily seen by those of us afflicted with this particular problem.

Perforatus' post:

Same sudden problem here with Sticher Express 102 on rendering layered .psd files.
Working on a G5 DP 2Ghz 1Gb MacOs 10.4.6
Tried reinstalling Stitcher Express, downgrading Quicktime with no result. The rendering stops at rendering the layermasks and leaves only a useless psd-directory.
Tried the Realviz support and they replied that there was a problem with the latest Apple systemupdate to 10.4.6. Spotlight uses a different indexingmethode. They were working on the problem. The suggested workaround is:

- Create a new workdirectory for rendering the files
- Goto system prefs>spotlight
- At the privacy tab: add the created workdirectory to exclude it from indexing.
- Render only in that directory and you should be fine

I haven't tried it yet (to busy) but i hope it works. I expected a Realviz Sticky around here, but could not find one. So I made this contribution to the forum.

Good luck.

dear Chas,
I'm absolutely happy to communicate to you that's WORK fine..... I've just tested it on three different images and it worked fine for all. I've also reassigned the 90% of the memory of my Quad G5 and it worked.... No more wasted hours.....
