Hi everybody,
can anyone tell me if the "SOLIGOR Digital High Grade Fish Eye 0,19x" is compatible with Stitcher DS?
It seems to have a larger coveredge than the NIKON FC-E8 (up to 190°) with better optical quality than the FC-E8 (though not better than the FC-E9).
Does anyone experienced this fisheye-converter in conjunction with Stitcher DS (with what camera?)?
Thanx.
Tim

Hi Tim,

It's an interesting lens. I may try to source one to test.

Hello Andrew,
on the following links are two photos taken with the SOLIGOR compared to the NIKON FC-E8:
http://vcc-dortmund.de/Bilder/Fish [...] isheye.JPG
http://vcc-dortmund.de/Bilder/Fish [...] nFC-E8.JPG
I superposed them in Photoshop by adjusting the size of one of them, and have the impression that they show different distortians, although they line up quite well.
Any comment? Please keep us posted if you do any tests... :-)
Kind regards
Tim

Hi Andrew,
do you manage to get hold of the SOLIGOR yet? Did you do any tests?
Or does anyone else experience this fisheye-converter?
Best regards
Tim

No, sorry I've not had time to investigate.

Unfortunatly not! That is exactly what I'm looking for. I do have Stitcher 5.6 DS myself but I couldn't get hold of pictures made with this lens so far. I'll keep you posted here, if I do...
Thanx nevertheless for your kind offer! :-)
Best regards

Looks like thats a FC-E9, so it's for the nikons, not a soligar...but it is interesting to browse around the international variants of ebay to see what kind of overlap exists there.

I did some research on the internet: the German seller claims, that it is not a NIKON, but comes from the same lens-manufacturer in Japan (see link above). The front diameter is 65mm and it's said "DHG-coated", which led me to the SOLIGOR Digital High Grade: https://secure.soligor.com/index.ph [...] s=6689&L=0

hello :)

old but interesting topic, the soligor fisheye seems to be a good "2 shots" lens but I don't know if it can be used with IIS or Stitcher (I think yes). How could I mount it on my p5100 ? I use an UR-E20 adapter with my FC-E8.

Thanks, have a good day

It looks a lot like the "iPIX' branded lens iPIX had for some of their non-Nikon setups. In particular the wider back end.

Based on the photo sample in this link https://secure.soligor.com/index.ph [...] s=6689&L=1
it proably can't be used for 2 fisheye stitching.

The cropped images looks a lot like a Sigma 8mm on an APS-C sensore like the Canon XTi or Nikon D80
