OK - not perfect but just to let you see the first shots...

These taken with a Nikon D70 and a Nodal Ninja 3:
Sigma 10mm f/2.8
www.360tacticalvr.co.uk/showca [...] _10mm.html

Sigma 8mm f/3.5
www.360tacticalvr.co.uk/showca [...] a_8mm.html

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8
www.360tacticalvr.co.uk/showca [...] 0_5mm.html

Yes, I know about the dust spots....

I'll be taking more shots tomorrow , along with the 4.5mm f/2.8 which is a Canon fit, so I'll use a Canon 350D.

Note: All shots were taken in a rush, so nodal points and/or exposure and focus are not 100%...

For the price, it's a winner. Sure it has some limitations but it's a great all rounder. If you have a larger camera and/or lens the new version 5 should work well or of course there's the perfect but more expensive 360Precision units.

As always, it's a compromise between budget and features.

First set of images are now available online here:
http://www.360tacticalvr.co.uk/showcase/fisheye_test

To follow: Some example panoramas taken from this test session made with the Sunex 5.6mm, Sigma 4.5mm, Sigma 8mm, Sigma 10mm, Nikon 10.5mm.

Notes:
1. Due to time constraints/work schedule images were shot over two days so some variances occurred.
2. All images were shot in RAW and processed in Aperture 1.5.6. Only changes were to set default white balance and correct some operator error in +/- EV settings!
3. Full scale JPEG's can be downloaded by using the pathname "../pictures + [image name]", i.e. ..showcase/fisheye_test/pictures/IMG_1033.jpg

In taking the images, I noticed that not only was there variation in focus between lenses and apertures but there was also variation in exposure and white balance, even though settings were in manual (with the exception of white balance which I shot in AUTO in RAW). I found it very difficult to get a consistent set of results and have therefore simply uploaded the images as I took them which is why you will see some differences in exposure, focus and white balance.

A DVD containing all RAW images can be supplied if required for a nominal charge. Please contact me off list for details.

Hi Andrew!

Have you had a chance to try the Sunex 5.6mm with Stitcher DS?

If so, does its 185 degree FOV create a satisfactory 2-shot pano solution? (Specifically, little - or no - banding at the hemisphere seam.)

Yes I have and yes it does. Images to be posted Monday. But with emphasis on the word "satisfactory".
