» » jpdeglet | Hello,
We have a serious problem !
- This morning, we have sucessfully downloaded and installed the patch 5.6.2 on our Stitcher Pro DS 5.6.1.
Now, impossible to stich previous DS project... If we generate a new project, the second fish-eye shot can't be stiched with the first one !
Help !

badders | Can you post to the web or email me the two images so I can take a look at them? Message edited by badders on 12-15-2007 at 09:53:47 AM ---------------

chen4490 | Yes, I wish you can solve the problem, It is a important function for us. |
badders | Hi JPhD,
Well, this certainly threw me at first. Two shots from a Sigma 8mm f/3.5... As far as I was aware, it wasn't possible to stitch just two shots with this lens using a full frame camera. But I was wrong...(kinda)
So it looks like with your lens and camera you get JUST enough overlap along the seam line to get these to stitch. There's some image degredation of course at the edge of the lens so it's still I think advisable to take three shots as you'll then use more of the center are of lens where the optical quality is better.
Back to your problem though...
So I'm guessing you mean you can get one set to stitch by changing the lens settings to "Fisheye more than 180 degs" then adjusting the circle to fit the lens. After stitching and saving you make a new project but now you find the images stitch with a blank area along part of the seam? (If you need, I can create and post a screen movie grab of all this...) You are finding the only way to avoid this is to close the program and re-start, am I correct?
Here's a solution for you....
1. Create a good stitched image as outlined above.
2. Select TOOLS - HIGH DISTORTION - SAVE CAMERA PROFILE and save profile
3. Select EDIT - PREFERENCES - CAMERA and add the camera profile location you just saved. If this is your only camera/lens combo you can also tick the AUTOMATICALLY LOAD checkbox
4. Exit Stitcher (only need to do this just this first time)
5. Launch Stitcher and load 2 images
6. Voila! Stitcher applies the camera profile and correctly stitches your images each and every time! p.s. Also noticed the sample images had the aperture set to f/22 and I think auto W/B and auto shutter speed. Try some shots with manual everything (keep the exposure the same between shots) and setting the aperture to f/8-f/11 as this range is the optimal aperture setting for this lens. jpdeglet | Badders,
Thanks for your suggestion.
I've realized 11x2 shots to re-define the best parameters for our combination hardware (Canon EOS 5D, Sigma EXDG Fisheye, Manfrotto 303SPH) and software Realviz Stitcher 5.6.2.
Now It's Ok...
I suppose that Realviz have modified/updated the fisheye algorythm.
Best regards,

jpdeglet | For us with the same double shot serie,
with DS 5.6.1 automatic stitching without adjustment is OK, with DS 5.6.2 automatic stitching require focus, center... adjustments to get the same result like 5.6.1.
