» » brian5 | ...can't reopen saved files nor load up it's own saved panorama image(saved as the 6 cubical image files) I did some editing reloaded the images fro conversion ,all successfully, but the second time (to render a lowr res version) STITCHER UNLIMITED would not reload the panorama quoting "encountered error, reverting to new file" this is getting irritating! Any ideas out there . Thanks Guys. Ciao |
badders | Is this linked to your nadir postings?
Questions for you:
1. can't reopen saved files...
What is the error message you get? What command are you using, i.e. FILE - OPEN, LOAD IMAGES or LOAD PANORAMA (they all do different things) Have you moved the .rzs anywhere from when you last opened it?
2. nor load up it's own saved panorama image(saved as the 6 cubical image files)....
This doesn't make sense because if you are loading a saved project then I'm presuming this is from some camera shots. If you are trying to load some cubical image files, you use LOAD PANORAMA and not FILE OPEN
3. but the second time (to render a lowr res version)....
Again, are you using the LOAD PANORAMA command? Have you modified the cubical images between loads, perhaps saved a cubical image with layers or alpha channels? ---------------

brian5 | hello Badders. Absolutely nothing was done to the files other than a patch and paste in photoshop CS3 to correct the "black hole". I saved that file as is, no name change whatsoever, and couldn't reload the panorama after I rendered it. I rendered one in high res and wanted to render one in lower res and that's where I encountered the problem. |
badders | So is this is the .rzs file you are trying to load, correct? i.e FILE - OPEN or is it the 6 x cubes, i.e. LOAD PANORAMA? ---------------

brian5 | yes. aside from other troubles with software. REALVIZ suggested that I trash files in the application's content folder, which I did, and that had no effect, but now the software is warning me that my temporary license has expired and I'm returning to demo mode and must activate the software. I have a legitimate license, but should this be necessary? there are clearly some problems with this software that hasn't yet been resolved. Thanks so much for your continued support. |
badders | You answered "yes", but there were two questions... Which answer is the yes for?
Also, that's correct. When you delete those specific files from your content folder, you also delete your registration info. But it's a simple procedure to re-register it again.

brian5 | Sorry Badders. Yes it is the .rzs file and then I try to "LOAD PANORAMA" with the 6 face cubical image file. As I stated earlier, the whole process worked the first time but was not possible the second time. |
badders | So Stitcher is failing to re-open a .rzs file which contains the SOURCE shots from your camera that you stitched to make your cubical output, correct?
This is a standard response I know (but often works) have you tried closing then re-starting Stitcher? Also, have you tried a re-start of your system? ---------------

brian5 | Yes, after trashing the suggested files I restarted the computer as well as the software. It will not open any files that it created. As we speak I am attempting a re-render of the project and will see step by step what occurs. Thanks for hanging with me here! Ciao |
badders | Not being able to re-open a file that Stitcher has saved, if nothing has been done to the file in the interim is an issue I've never heard of before. Sounds like one for support@realviz.com I'm afraid! ---------------

brian5 | page 17 0f STITCHER manual has FILE>Recent files with (WINDOWS) at the end of the paragraph. ???? What do you think that means? Is this a feature only available in Windows? I'm wondering if the "Save as" command has something to do with this. It is possible I did not press the save icon each time I saved. Force of habit that "save as" was all that needed to be done with most Apple softwares. Must you type in the file name you choose THEN press the save icon in the stitcher window as well each time? Thanks Badders |
badders | No, that feature is also available for Mac.
You do need to define a filename before saving, that's for sure... ---------------

timefx | Dear Brian,
can you send me the *.rzs-file by mail:
tim.mendler@panographers.net
or put it together with the cubical images on a ftp for download?
I'll give it a try.
Best regards

brian5 | ...there seems to, finally, be a resolution to these problems of "file saving" There is definitely something amiss with STITCHER's saving directory. Everything seems to work normally if files are saved to my desktop but completely useless if they are filed otherwise, this is very odd as I do not have any problems with any of the other software I use i.e. Final Cut Studio, Photoshop CS3 Extended, etc. So I 'm sure this is a STITCHER problem with file directories that I hope they will soon resolve. Thanks so much for your feedback and help, it was greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend. Ciao |
