I need some help here...I've installed Realviz 5.6.1 on an Intel Mac and I'm unable to complete a simple panorama...I've tried to stich three images (JPEG or TIFF) and in each case the render process stops at 99% for the current image and 76% complete for the entire process...has anyone had this problem and solved it?

Thank you,

David

Hi David,
I'm not a pro but i've got the same problems with enblend. The reason was an incorrect filepath and an incompatible file format.
Is Stitcher stopping to render when it begins to blend pictures?  Do you use external blending soft (enblend, smartblend) ?

I'm not using any external blending software....the program seems to work correctly until the final phase.....the inital view of the combined images is displayed but in the render step it works for a few minutes and then stops when it hits the 99% mark for the current image and 76% for the total....if I'm doing something wrong here you can see that I haven't figured it out yet.!

I was having the same problem until I realised I was trying to render the whole desktop!!!
Make sure you define the render area or check the auto crop box and the it sails past the 76 or 77% mark.

I concur with PMTV2000
I had exactly the same issue, I always check the render area before rendering now

Perhaps Stitcher could issue a warning in these cases before rendering?

Just checking, but you DO have QuickTime intalled, right? Stitcher needs QT to render anything, also if that does not work try going to Apple Icon (Edit on PC) Memory and move the slider all the way to teh LEFT and see if that helps.

Just to be sure. You are talking about QuickTime Pro or is the QuickTime (Free) Player also OK?

I've had this same problem. I seem to be fine if rendering a panorama with just 2-3 images but much more than that and it seems to crash. I have the auto-crop box checked and QuickTime installed (does it have to be the latest version?) so not sure what the problem is. I've also had crashes where it gives me memory errors even thought I'm running with 4 gig of memory, even Photoshop doesn't have low memory problems on my machine! It's very frustrating, this seems to be very unstable software.

I also just tried setting the rendering area manually, and it still stops rendering at 99/76%.

I am facing a similar problem with Stitcher Express 2.5. I have no problem to render a 30+ image Cubic QTVR output file; it takes about 14 minutes and the output appears correct. However, if I attempt to render a 5 image Snapshot output; it takes about two hours and then aborts at the end with an error ("some system error which says it must abort and close the application).
The same 5 images will render a Cylindrical image with no problem. But I would like an image without distortions, hence my desire for a Snapshot output.
I am running XP, SP2 up to date with 2 Gb RAM, plenty of hard drive space and Quick Time Player 7.3.1

Hope someone can help. Thanks

This problem is linked to the 'smart' blending. If you can set 'morph' in the Rendering Options instead of 'smart', it should work better.

Does this blending mode apply only to Stitcher Pro? I sure can't find the option in Stitcher Express 2.0.0.  I've had this rendering problem for about two years now, I've tried setting memory to zero which does seem to help in some cases but more than half the time the rendering doesn't complete. I'm one step away from abandoning SE and using the PhotoShop route instead.

Hi dgodfrey,
Can I ask if you receive any error window once your render stops? Only I have a problem where the Filename in QTVR Render Parameters (under File) gets shortened and causes a QT error.

As for the smart blending option, it could be the one in Edit > Preferences > Rendering > Blending method?

Bruxist,

I don't get an error message at all during rendering. The progress dialogue box goes away (after taking an hour+), but there's no output file. I'm not using QT at all - my rendering tends to be as simple as possible - cylindrical, JPEG output.

I'm using Stitcher Express 2.0.0, so in Edit->Preferences->Rendering, I don't have a blending method option. All I have are the following:
Equalization Factor
Stencil Blending
Render Background Colour

I'm guessing that blending method is either a Stitcher Pro option, or perhaps it is in Sticher Express 2.5.  As I'm sure you can imagine, I'm not keen on spending money on an upgrade, only to find out that this is a bug with no workaround.

I'm wondering if the problem is memory related.  I have 2GB on my laptop, but the problem occurs much more frequently on larger renders (around 20 images).  I successfully rendered 10 images recently - it took about half an hour, but at least it completed!

Regards,
-darryl

If it is any comfort, I intially tried to render 24 high definition tif images (2736x3648 px) from a 10Mpx camera using my Stitcher Unlimited software (2G RAM + plenty of Memory) and I got a lot of unusual PC application errors - and no render.
I reduced the imported images down to 1024x768 px and these render successfully in quite a short time.
So there is a relationship between image resolution/memory/render time - you just need to find the limits I guess.

Sorry I can not be more specific with your version of Stitcher.
