Hi,

I am a newcomer to Stitcher Unlimited and have been practising on a few old handheld files. Getting the hang of things slowly but surely.

My question is what settings (if any) determine the output resolution of a panorama saved for printing. My source files are 300 pixels/inch but the resulting panorama is only 72 pixels/inch. Not really the quality Ineed when printing large versions.

Cheers

It doesn't matter what the dpi is, only how many pixels you actually have.

If you want a 10 inch wide photo at 300 dpi, you need 3000 pixels wide. That's 3000 pixels at 72 dpi or 3000 pixels at 300 dpi. It's just a matter of what your display can do. Monitors are typically 72, print 300.

In photoshop you can always change the dpi of your sticher output to your desired output resolution. Just make sure you do not "Resample Image" in the Image Size dialog and you'll be fine.

Thanks for reminding me, obvious isn't it !.

It has been a long time since I had to think about this sort of thing as most of my pictures are printed from hi res scans and just get cropped accordingly.

Cheers
