Still Having Minor Misalignment Problems.

Hi,
I am still having minor misalignments when stitching spherical panoramas using Realviz 5.5 Unlimited.
In the past I have heard reference to fine tuning the calibration. How is this done? My rig consists of Canon 1DS Mkll/EF 15mm fisheye/ 360degree adjuste. The nodal positions are keyed in precisely.
Normally, I select full frame fisheye from lens parameters and the software does an automatic calibration. I then do an automatic stitch/ align/ equalise and render to a spherical panorama tiff using smartblend / Lanczos5.
Almost always, I get a fairly well stitched panorama but with minor stitching errors. Am I missing something?
Regards,
Stephen.

I'm having alignment problems, too. I tried the calibration and it either fails at about 75% or doesn't appear to actually do anything. The way you do it is to load your images, drag one from the Image Strip and then drag another and try to align them as close as possible, manually. Go to Tools>High Distortion>Calibration and it should do its thing. You can then save the Calibration to use again or load automatically for future projects with the same set-up.

The best way I've found to correct most of my misalignment/ghosting is to export as a PSD and edit the layers in Photoshop.

Honestly, I'm still hunting my Nodal Point (waiting on a proper tripod) so I'm hoping that will eliminate most of my labor intensive editing

Hi Liar,
I have tried this approach also (it is the method I use with my non fisheye lenses) but it doesn't seem to work for fisheye calibration. I was just wondering if there was an easy way to tweak the automaticly generated figures for lens parameters. I have heard Badders commenting on this type of tweaking in the past but was not sure what he meant. Pehaps he would be good enough to comment if he reads this post.
Regards,
Stephen.

Errmmm..

Could be I was referring to re-positioning the circle. Can you give me a link to my original post?

Sorry Badders, I have searched through the archive and cannot see the relevant post. Now you mention it though, perhaps you were alluding to adjusting the image circle. As far as I am aware, this should be adjusted to just touch the four corners.
Thanks anyway for your input,
Stephen.
