I am new to this forum, and have searched for information on lenses that can be used with Stitcher Express.  It seems like everyone is using Unlimited, which allows the use of fish eye lenses. I might upgrade to Unlimitted later, but my current need is to use as few images as possible to create cubic images using my D70. I am currently using a Tamron 11-18mm, and getting good results with 6 shots overlapping at the top, and 6 below, plus a nadir. I would like to get a lens that would allow me to do this with a lot fewer shots, and am considering the Tokina 10-17mm fisheye and using it at a focal length that gets it into a rectilinear mode. Is anyone using this lens with Express? They call this a fisheye lens, but will Express stitch images from this lens if it is set at 10mm(180*)?

The FOV on your 11-18mm sounds like its pretty close to the Nikkor 10.5mm Fisheye lens.

There's a couple Sample Image Sets taken with a Nikon D200 and that lens you can download and test stitch at the bottom of the www.360Precision.com home page. They're 6 around plus a Zenith. They leave a small "hole" at the bottom.

That would cut your number of shots almost in half. Give them a try
