DXO or not before Stitcher ?

Hi,

I'd like a sort of official answer from Realviz concerning engine of Stitcher. Stitcher includes an engine to automatically compensate distorsion of lenses when you stitch pictures. So is it a good idea to use DXO before import of pictures in Stitcher ? as DXO corrects most defaults of lenses so it could be confusing for Stitcher !

My first try shows me I have some little issues yet on my pictures. Here is one I made two weeks ago and you can see some issues on narrow view in the bottom of pano  :??:

Thanks for all your valuable help

Vincèn

Your nodal point is not properly aligned.

Hi Vincen,

It's fine to import images into DXO before stitching in Stitcher, but....

You have to make sure you do NOT apply any lens geometry corrections. All other corrections are fine.

Looking at your image it looks like the nodal point is a little off. What camera/lens/rotator were you using? Also, have you tried using Smart Blend when you render?

Also, can you respond to my last reply to the other thread you posted on the forum? We're here to help but it's always nice to know if our replies were helpful or not.

oky thanks for clear explanations about DXO, so I'll take care to use it only to correct everything excepted lens geometry to avoid issues with Stitcher :)

I'm using a Canon 350D with 10-22 lens and a Nodal Ninja 3. I use it at lens 10 with settings of 40.5 and 85 for NN3 as I found in listing on their website :)

For Smartblend where do you have that option ? I'm unable to find it (I use Stitcher in French but I don't see any options that might be Smart Blend in English :(

Thanks for all

You get the smartblend option when you render to spherical JPG and look at the Render options in the render window.
