» » Meuke | Today I downloaded and installed Stitcher Unlimited 5.7 for Mac.
Before I used Stitcher Professional 5.5
When I started working with Sticher I encounterd a problem with the onscreen icons or menus.
Before stitching everything works normal. After stitching the onscreen menus or icons just dissapear and only a grey area is left on the position of the icons.
When moving the mousepointer over this area it is still possible to activate the buttons but one cannot tell which button is which.
The system I use is the following :
PowerMac G5
Processors : 4 x 2,5 Ghz Power PC G5
Memory : 8 GB DDR2 SDRAM
OS X Version 10.5.2 Leopard
Before I used Stitcher Express, Stitcher Professional and did not encounter this problem.
Even removed Stichter Unlimited and tried a reinstall but the problem persists.
Anyone having the same problem with the new Stitcher Unlimited 5.7 ?

probison | I just started using Stitcher Unlimited for the Mac and I'm also having the same problem but it only happens if 'Live Preview' is checked under View/Display menu. If you toggle it off the the buttons reappear. I also have 'Live Preview Cylindrical' checked all the time. Another problem that I'm having is that the stitched image doesn't appear until I click where it is supposed to be. Clicking on the gray area sometimes will cause Stitcher to quit unless I toggle the Live preview. I didn't have these problems with the Realviz demo 5.6.2. |
realviz support | Hi all,
We identified the problem. It is linked to the Live Preview and the Linear Blending.
So, for the moment (a fix should be released soon):
- disable the Live Preview in the Preferences - Preview - Display Live Preview
- uncheck Real Time Linear Blending in the GPU Tab
And it should work better.
Thanks

the problem is only in G4 or G5, not in Mac Intel.

The problem is if you do so, you cannot use the "set render area" tab anymore...
Anyhow - if using this tab, which is nice basically at this point - the cropping information does not go through to the rendering engine. I would prefer to leave the render area in the rendering dialog. On the whole, if looking at what is working and not working we are better off with version 5.6.

paulmc | I have the problem of the 'set render area' not working at all which in effect now means I have an unusable programme. A number of jobs to get out to clients and nowhere to go. Unfortunately I dont have 5.6 installed as Im a new user. Having gone from the trial version of 5.6 which worked fine to this 5.7. Im now stuck! Ill get on to tech support and report back what they say. |
badders | You know you could always export the entire file then crop in Photoshop. Not the perfect solution but a workaround. Message edited by badders on 06-12-2008 at 08:26:18 AM ---------------

Britchie | I seem to be in the same situation as Meuke only I have a dual processor Mac running leopard 10.5.3 and the very latest version of QT.
My freshly upgraded StitcherUnlimited 5.7 is so unstable that getting a rendered file out of it is a "hit and miss" experience at best. I don't remember reading anywhere that I should be using a machine with an Intel chip and I would like to know ASAP what I can do to get this working and when I can expect a fix or how I can get a complete refund.
BTW, I read the note about not promoting competitor's products in this arena which I agree is completely unacceptable. If someone senior would care to take the time to contact me privately I can tell you exactly what this product needs to surpass your competition (starting with more extensive pre-release product testing).
