| I am trying to retime a sequence using variable retime speed.
What I would like to do is to start the sequence with a retimed speed of zero (i.e. hold the first frame for a second), then slowly increase the speed until it reaches normal speed.
With the current speed curve editor, I seem not to be able to do this, or am I missing something?
The details of my sequence:
Input sequence lenght is 120 Frames
Output sequence length should be 172 Frames, with the first 25 Frames identical to source frame #1 and a smooth transition from freeze to normal speed.
Thanks in advance for any advise,

| No, you don't miss anything. In fact what you can do is to consider that you want to generate an output sequence of 147 frames (172 - 25). You can simply duplicate the first frame 25 times to get the 25 first images of your output sequence.
So, you want to transform 120 images to 147. If you want something linear (I don't think so) you can enter a retiming factor.
Else, you can edit the graph editor to get a smooth curve. |
| Thanks Sebastien,
that worked a little bit better, but I still am having troubles getting a real smooth transition from speed zero (freeze) to the frist retimed frame. With your method, there's always a noticeable jump.
I wish ReTimer would allow for Frame Curves, not only speed curves. Whith frame curves, a speed of zero or negative speed would be easy to edit.
