Using final cut pro. these render times are killing me. anyways, just got the program, theres no real tutorials that show what all you can do with this program and messing around on it doesnt help because i have to wait 2 hours to see an outcome. ok, heres my problem, ill also put all my settings.
The slowmotion, pretty much sucks. I know what the program can do, and I obviously have some settings wrong. im trying to accomplish really fast motion, then at certain spots almost come to a stand still, but not completely, then go back to fast motion, etc. ill put a clip up to show what it looks like, cause its bad, especially on tv playback. its all dv footage 720x480 with my canon gl2. ntsc. ok, now for my retime settings.
render type, estimation & warping
Input fields, Lower field first
input frame rate 25
output fields progressive
output fram rate, 25
alpha channel rend off
retiming method slow down factor
then the retime factor is different all over
mathing frame # 0(dont even know what that is)
search area % 2
correction filter 0
blur mode deblur
blur by (# frames) 1
foreground matte something, alpha
foreground matte something? white
motion display none.
if anyone could help out id be so greatful, im getting frustrated and i want to get the settings right this next time because its really taking me forever to get stuff done with the render times. by the way, if you go to the galleries, im trying to do somewhat what the guy did in Digital Snapshot/BQ.SEA tronic. i want the slow down clear footage like in digi snapshot. when i playback normally, the pictures i slowed down are clear and in focus, when i render in retimer they are really not. youll see if you watch the vid. it wont look as bad in the video being its reallllly compressed so it doesnt take so long to download, but youll get the jist. Thanks to anyone who helps, i need it soon if possible.
by the way, the beginning of the clip has no retimer footage, the retimer footage starts when im driving down lombard street(the crookedest street in the world). forgive the footage during that, i wasnt filming, i was driving.

remember it doesnt look as bad as it really is being its so compressed. the regular file is horrid, especially on the slowmotion, its gittery and completely out of focus.
