Hey folks,

I'm trying to find out a good workflow between Movimento and Maya.

The problem I'm having is solving out the issue with the actor's moving head.

For instance there is a rigged character - joint and BS setup and how would you add
the motion captured facial expressions on top of a skinned character.

I know I can use the exported locators as the influence objects on skin or drive clusters whatever, but the problem is that the moCaped head is actually moving, turning, shaking etc.
How do you transfer this kind of animation on the skinned character (head/neck joints)
OR
how do you get rid of the head animation on the locators leaving just the facial expression motion so it would be easy to attach it to the skinned face.

 :heink:

thanks for a quick HELP!

Hello,

Movimento has an option for this!
Select at least three "rigid" markers on your head (the ears and one of the top of the head for example)
use the "3D scene->Compute global motion" option.
If you export this scene to Maya, a parent of the mocap tracks is animated with the global head motion
and the points themselves only embed the local deformations of the face!

Hope it helps,

Niko
