My apologies if this has been dealt with before.
 
After installing the MM demo, I am unable to create a
preview in LightWave. I get the error: \'Can\'t open Direct
Draw window,\' \'Can\'t allocate preview frames.\'
 
I suspect a system change at installation but don\'t
know how to fix it.
 
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Found a solution:
 
In Preview Options, change Display Format
from Direct Draw to DIB.
