» » Stevens | Hello Nico, hello realviz staff !!
I have some problem in loading avi sequences (because avi is an extension for so many codecs). I'd like to know which codecs can be loaded, or how to know it can be ?
I have tried mpeg4 and wmv 8, both of them can be played by the windows player but none can be loaded by MatchMover 4.0 Pro.
Any help ? |
niko | Hello,
If you're able to play these avis it should work in MatchMover.
How did you obtain the videos? (DV Camera, HD, etc...)
You can try the following tool to find the needed codec:
http://avicodec.duby.info/
Do you have the problems with every .avi file?

timefx | Hello Stevens,
to my knowledge, wmv8 and mpeg4 are codecs, which build "group of pictures", whichs means that frames are not kept individually but "grouped together" while compressed.
I wouldn't be suprised, if MMPro is not able to tread these kind of streams...
Kind regards

Stevens | Hello,
I downloaded AVIcodec and verified my files. Since the last post, I've tested two more codecs : h263+ and msmpeg4. Here is the result :
- the source file throws an error, I don't know its type.
- h263+ : not recognized by AVIcodec, , not imported by MMPro
- FMP4 (some kind of mpeg4) : not recognized by AVIcodec, not imported in MMPro
- msmpeg4 (DivX3 - MPEG4 (low motion)) : recognized by AVIcodec, imported in MMPro (
yeah !!)
- WMV2 (aka Windows Media Video 8) : recognized by AVIcodec, not imported in MMPro
All these codecs are supported by my system (played by Windows Media Player).
Finally, I suggest everyone to use some DivX 3 codec (I will certainly try a DivX 4 or 5 soon).
Thanks for all PS : thanks for AVIcodec, it's very useful. |
