I am exploring matchmover on a friends computer and working my way through the tutorials online. Have got a fairly limited knowledge of maya but is all i have available to me to animate and render with...

When I import a matchmover scene in to maya and attempt to render it I get the following message in my command feedback line:

Warning: (Mayatomr.Nodes) : Camera_03_ImagePlane: image plane file not found or format not supported, ignored

And the image plane is subsequently not rendered. The plane is definately in the scene and plays through fine when I scrub the timeline. How can i change the file type of the sequence? The initial file imported in to matchmover is the avi from the 3D model based tracking with ImageModeler and MatchMover Pro - Basic Tutorial

Any ideas?

Hi,

I just tried to reproduce your issue and you're right!

It seems to me that "Maya Software" or "Maya Hardware" rendering engine can render avi files but that Mental Ray can't.

Here is a workflow to achieve:
- convert your avi file to a sequence of still images (you can do it with MM if you wish: load your sequence - 3D Scene->Render Setup - choose the image format you want and click "render" )
- load the first image in place of your avi file in Maya (don't forget to check "use image sequence" )
- render with mental ray

that's it!
hope it helps,

Niko
