Hi!

I am trying to track a 26 frame scene by hand tracking. After about 13 frames, the whole scene has been given a blur effect. Because of this I think, MM is not allowing me to place trackers. It is giving me the "The Quality is too Low" alert.

I need to track this scene, however I cannot find any points where the quality is okay. (only after the 13th frame)
Is this in relation to the blurriness?
Is there a way to by pass this message and alow a tracker to be placed anyways?
Is there always a way to track a scene even though the quality is low and it gives alerts that it cannot be done? or,
Is it just not possible?

Thank you so much, I appreciate your efforts to help!!

Hi,

There could be two reasons for the tracker to stop for too low quality: blur or shaky motion. In your case, it seems to be blur, but sometimes blur is caused by a big jump in camera motion. Go to preferences (2D/Auto Tracking tab) and change the "Stop" quality threshold from 0.80 to a lower value, say 0.50. You can even set it to zero for a try, but then the tracker will not stop even when you think it should (e.g. the tracked object gets occluded)
For shaky motion (e.g. handheld camera), uncheck the "Smart prediction" box in the same preference page.
After validating your change in preferences, delete the key you have created and create a new one for the new settings to apply.

Best,

Luc
