Hi SOS anyone

I am pretty new to camera tracking and got this green screen studio shot needed to track urgently.

Me tried manually tracked all points me think is good and follow by auto tracking it. But the result was tat all the points tracked lays almost all in a straight line or grouped alone it. Still pretty new to 3D Tracking so dont really know where I have gone wrong. Didnt set up 3D coordinate as didnt know how to. It was shot using a 28mm lens, using PAL 720x576. Using MM Pro 3.

I've also attached mine file. Will upload the clips if need to.

Hi Mike,

Will be great if u can help me out wif this. A 3dsMax scene will be good too. Do u need me to send over the seq. too or will the MM file me had attached enough?

Will love to see some of the tracks u did before.

hi

1.I would need the sequence of frames at the best quality you can supply.

2.The make and model of camera that was used.

thats basically it.

I will start from scratch in my MatchMover and will send you back the completed track in Max and MM.

do you have an ftp or anywhere else i can dowload the background movie from? Or you could send me a disc if you liked, let me know.

I will put together a little selection of my recent tracks and upload them shortly.

How urgently would you need the track back?

Hi,

A friend mine was kind enough to let me use his server to upload. Jus got mine seq. uploaded... The seq. are in jpeg. 558 frames in total.

All the infor me had of the camera is it was shot with a 28mm lens. The markers on the floor n wall are spaced as evenly as they could be. Markers are spaced 1m by 2m apart from center of each marker.

Shot can be download using FTP from      Host: www.fongtech.com
                                                            User: roychan
                                                            Password: space1999

Dont know how much time u need to get it done but if u can get back to me in 2 to 3 days time would be great. Really need to nail this shot before any rendering can be done.

Cheers MAD

just downloading that now ,

should be able to sort this. But if you can find out the make and model of the camera that would be a huge help.

I will let you know if it is going badly, as far as i can tell it should be fine.

will keep you posted

cheers

just for your referance

the reason the automatic track would have been all over the place is you have people moving, which will interfear with the auto tracking process unless you do a manual track or use the polygon masking tool so that MM will know not to track objects with the mask boundry.

Who is going to be doing your keying?  there is a lot of reflected  white light on your green screen. could be tricky.

cheers

Hi Mike,

SO sorry for the corrupt few frames. Dont know how it happen. Anyway me emailed u those frames already...

As for the infor about the camera, the 28mm lens is all they can tell me. I came in only after the shot was done. Otherwise would have ask for some solid stuff like boxes be place in the shot to make tracking easier.

The masking out area around the people in the shots I did do but the camera still not giving me the right movement. Will love to know how u get about doing the shot when u are done to see where I went wrong or didnt do.

The reason shot look burn out at some point towards the end is cos I pull in some contrast to the shot before me start tracking. Original shot was a bit flat so though it would be better for tracking. Was wondering if u did this to shot u did before tat are a bit flat in colour or contrast???

Ya agree with u tat the green screen will be a pain to key but at least for now I'm not ask to do it... YET...

Cheers MAD
PS. if got any problem jus email me
