Another novice question...
What's the good procedure to orientate the footage's axis ?

It's a footage showing a door, so camera was horizontale.
When I import this footage in MM it lie horizontaly with the 3d camera above pointing downward. Why this strange orientation ?
And when exporting a .ms file to Max the tracking seems good BUT the camera is alway upside down and...unusable !
Navigating the camera is a bit awful ! The upward axis seems to be allways the same ... no matter the pref setting...when I reset zoom the scene becomes a point very far in the middle of the screen...

Someone as some tips for a newcomer lost in MM 3D space ???!

Hello,

To change the up axis in the current project, do it in the project properties and not the preferences (just hit ESC to deselect everything, switch to 3D mode and look in the project parameters window).

Max has Z up axis as default. So be sure to define a coordinate system in MM that has Z as up axis before exporting and it should match.

Note: All this has been fairly improved in MM4.

ok, thanks,
now I set up the 3D properties instead of pref (is there a difference ?).
But now why all my scene becomes a far small point each time I "Reset Zoom" ?

You need to set a scene scale also that fits your real scale.
Be sure that the distance attributes of the coordinate system is well defined.
