» » wonderer | Greetings, I know this question seems to be repeated but it has no answer so far !!
I have completed the first tutorial in MatchMover pro 4 (the chinese lion tut) and the result was amazing!! then I exported the data to ms file for 3dsmax (v7.5) and I ran the ms file as a script in 3dsmax now my scene has four objects (auto tracks, camera01, rzgroup, rzobjs) and everything looks right Now lets say I want to put a 3d box near to the lion statu and I want it to match the camera motion tracks that imported from MM, what should I do next to make use of these autotracks in my software?
I really appreciate your help, and thanks in advance! |
niko | Hi,
Tracks are simply 3d helpers to help you locate the content of your scene in 3d space.
Put your cube when you want on the stage, using tracks as markers to locate the good place (e.g. the ground...) or to snap your object.
You have nothing else to do.
Once done, use camera01 view to watch the result, the cube seems to be part of the original footage.
If you need more explanations on how to use 3ds to achieve, i'm afraid i'm not the good person...

wonderer | Ah god finally someone has replied!! Thanks very much for the hint but unfortunately yes, I do need more help regarding that, because I couldn't manage to get use of these tracks yet !! u said they are helpers!! but Max idetifies them as a single object!! so how to deal with them as helpers? I know it seems very odd from a MAX user to miss such knowledge but MAX has the lamest tracking system ever made! so I ignored everything related to tracking and camera match, years ago then along came MatchMover which was nothing less than a savior!! but it lacks essential tutorials very much!!
So, again, thanks for ur help and any more ideas, I would be so appreciated. |
niko | Ok,
I misunderstood your problem.
Tracks are grouped, to access each helper, you have to ungroup "autotracks":
- select it (the single object "autotracks"
- Menu "Group" -> "Ungroup"
that's it!

wonderer | Ouch, I really forgot to check that!! Tons of thanks. One obstacle has gone!
Now what would I do with this mass amount of helping points! use them as markers to locate my new object, how should that be done? |
