Hello,
Back with the same problem...
I'm fighting with  coord system.
The scene is : the feet of someone walking, shooted downward so we only see scrolling ground (with pretty ready-to-track stone lines).

The tracks seems ok but :
- Impossible to indicate one origin point at 0/0/0, the survey coord allways switch back to the same (computed) value.
- Impossible to create a descent coord sys. Snaping X and Y result in a weird Z axis...and so the export in Max is very bad (cam jumping here and there !)

Please help me !!!!
Fabrice

Hi,

Attached are the MM4 project file and the corresponding max export.
You had the following problems:
- A mix of survey point and coordinate system. Either you use survey points (at last 4 of them but not on a plane, so it's not usable on this shot !) or you use a coordinate system
- Some tracks were too short and a little shaky

Hope this helps

I looked at the ms file it's much better than mine !
But I tried to open the mmf project with no success...
I use MM Pro 3, maybe it's the problem ?
It's a pity because I'd like to work on this file.

- The 3D ground tracking still has a little problem : it's going a bit downward (a few degre) ... is it possible to have it really horizontal (Z=0) or is it a MM limitation ?

- What do you think of tracking the shoes movement ? is it possible ? How ?

Thanks a lot for helping !
Fabrice

Hi,

Of course MM3 cannot read MM4 file.... I'll try to send you the project for MM3.
For tracking the shoe, given the low nb of tracks and the lack of parallax, either you do it in 2D only, or if you want 3D you try to build a 3D mesh of  the shoe and track using this as a constraint.

Hope this helps

Hi,

>I'll try to send you the project for MM3.
It'd be great !

>if you want 3D you try to build a 3D mesh of the shoe and track using this as a constraint.
You mean I constrain some point of this new shoes-mesh to the point in the images in order to animate the mesh properly in a 3D space ?

Fabrice.
