I'm a relatively newuser to MatchMover, and very new user (April 28, 2008) of Image Modeler. What does the acquisition mean for MatchMover users? I don't own/use Autodesk 3d applications so am I now out of luck for future support/updates since it appears Autodesk is no longer going to support MM as a standalone product? I purchased with an implied promise of continued support/service which now seems to have been ripped away. I'm wishing I had gone with PFTrack or Silver Bullett (Boujou) now...

What are the rest of you planning to do?

Dear David,

I ask myself exactly the same questions, but it seems to me that only time will tell...!

REALVIZ stated that the MM support will be continued, but as far as for updates, it seems to me that MOVIMENTO has taken over all the developpements awaited for MM 4.5 or MM 5.0.
MM 4.0.1 was a good choice for supervised 3D-tracking but without any further updates, it will be bypassed by other pruducts in a not so far future. It's too early to regret your choice for MM, but theese days may come...

Personally, since I also own a Maya 2008-licence, I wait with eager anticipation which direction AUTODESK's MM will take.

Best regards

Tim

Well Tim, if you want to be reasonable about it and not panic... :)

Dear sir,
the support for 'old' Realviz products will continue in the future. There is no worry to have about that.

That is of some comfort. How does the "continued support" fit into Autodesk's statement they are discontinuing MM as a standalone product?

Thanks realviz Support for the reply!
