| I'm a bit disappointed when I received my MatchMover 2.1 from Realviz. I got a note from them that the user guide will be sent on a separate shipment because of their availability. The CD does not contain an electronic version of the user guide so I am left blind on how to use the software. I downloaded the basic tutorials from the Realviz site and I found them to be inadequate for my needs. I mean the two tutorials are catering for simple scenarios. I called Realviz support if I could get hold of the advanced tutorials. According to them, the advanced tutorials are only available for customers who are paying a support contract with Realviz. I said what??? These are tutorials not upgrades. I can't believe what I heard from the support person. So, anyone, in Realviz France, please help me. I need to finish a project this weekend involving putting a CG car running on a live-footage of highway. Tutorial examples of how to export a scene rather than a camera match move. I would appreciate it if you can email me a copy of all those advanced tutorials because I believe as a customer (who bought your product) I am entitled to those ones. |
| Hello Rafael,
for your information there is no Advanced Tutorial for MatchMover in our web site support zone. The only tutorials that exist for MatchMover are the one you already have.
What has been said is wrong, advanced tutorials are availabel for EVERY customers, if you don't have an acces to the support zone for customers, just tell me (I need your company name and your dongle number). I would be easier for you to send your sequence by ftp. I will mail you the instructions. |
| Dominique,
I sent you a sequence via email. The ftp site does not allow me to connect because it is really really slow. I would appreciate it if you can provide some tips on how to matchmove the shot.
Basically, it is a shot of a road taken from a moving car. The shot is the same direction as the movement of the car. It is intended to put a CG car just about 10 feet from the front of the camera. My questions are:
The points that I'm tracking (spots on the road, curb and house walls) move past the screen after a couple of frames because of the fast movement of the car. Can I start new trackers in the middle of the sequence? What about Point relations and the Coordinate System? The reference points that are referred to by the Coordinate System, Axis properties are no longer there in the screen. Do I need to redefine the Coordinate System and Point Relations again for these new trackers?
I think this is the main issue at the moment. Disappearing tracker points. Please respond to me by email if you got the answer.

| Dominique,
Thanks for sending the mmf of the shot I sent you. MatchMover has done it for me.
I have completed my project on time. Really powerful software.
Give my thanks to the Realviz software developers/designers - they made a really fine and wonderful product.
