» » Exasperated3D | My video footage is perfectly tracked within Realviz Matchmover v3.0. When I render with 3D test objects, they are perfectly anchored to the video footage. However, when I import the track into 3DS Max v7.0, the 3D test objects are swimming against the background. I have tried fazziebear's solution of setting the start time of the environment map to -1 in the material editor, however this does not help.
Furthermore, I believe all my parameters are correct across Realviz Matchmover 3 & 3DS Max 7. My parameters are as follows:
Realviz frame rate: 29.97 ---> 3DS frame rate: NTSC
Realviz filmback width: 36 ---> 3DS aperture width: 36
Realviz resolution 720 x 480 ---> 3DS resolution 720 x 480
Realviz pixel aspect ratio: 1.0 ---> 3DS pixel aspect ratio 1.0
Why is this not working?!
If you wish, I will gladly send you my Realviz Matchmover 3.0 project file, Max 7.0 scene file, and video footage (the shot is 434 frames).

Ronald | Hello,
Did you manage to synchronize the first frame as suggested in the previous thread about MAX 7 AVI bug. If you're using an AVI, that's surely the issue. To be sure, you can convert your footage to single files and use them as the background.
We'll be happy to look at your project anyway, so don't hesitate to send it.

Exasperated3D | Ronald,
I uploaded a ZIP archive named 3DS_IMPORT_PROBLEM.zip to the Realviz FTP, in the directory: /incoming/support. This archive contains my Realviz Matchmover 3.0 project file, maxscript file, 3DS Max 7 scene file, and AVI video. Again, I have tried everything! The track is perfect within MM but fails in MAX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I tried viewing the background as a TIFF sequence in MAX, as opposed to an AVI, but I still get the same "swimming" problem.

Ronald | Hello,
I looked at your project, and finally make it work perfect.
I think what makes MAX render bad is the interlacement. Max does not handle this as MatchMover does, so you always have a frame shift.
What I did is simply rendered out your AVI to single images, and use that as a background in MAX, and it renders good.
To do so, simply open your AVI in MatchMover, set up the interlacement as in your project and do render in any image format you want (I did it with PNG). This will produce progressive images.
Hope this helps |
