Dear sir,

I am a 3D modeler and i have been working in 3DS MAX  and MAYA for the past four years. Now i am required to work with " REALVIZ Image Modeler ", and as i am not familiar with the software i am unable to get a perfect character model using the given images (54 images ).

As i place locators on the given images and it is calibrated automatically and when i check the markers i find that they have moved from the initial position. This happens during the locator stage as well as modeling marker stage.

My model is getting distorted and tangled so i am really in need of some help and advice, so any of u are able to shed some light on this subject (how a character model should be done or how to go about creating a character model using the given tools of " REALVIZ Image Modeler 3.5. " ) please send me a reply.

Thanking you,

prathap.

Hello,

In the case studies section of this site, you have an example of a character that was created using IM and some quick advices:

http://www.realviz.com/support/pub [...] /index.php

My two cents:
- 54 is a huge set of images; not impossible but hard to calibrate. I suggest you select some (max 10 to 20) of them to create your model.
- Your character should not move along the shots acquisition (IM needs static objects)
- The locators are reconstructed (from the placed markers) every time a new calibration occurs; that's probably why you see the locators moving ...

Hope it helps,

Stef
