Problems with a complex building

Hi

We recently purchased ImageModeler, to help us out modeling realistic film sets, environments and props.

Right now, in an aim to learn it, we are doing some test projects, using buildings in downtown Seattle.

We are having a huge amount of problems getting everything calibrated though.  Image a low building (a bar), and next to it is a tall hotel.  We import about 10 images to define this space, and all calibrate GREEN - however, we go ahead and start modeling, and it is clear that something isn’t lined up properly at all.....

We were hoping, when we bought the software, that more advanced tutorials would be available - I have gone through the tutorial supplied with 3.5, and it is somewhat simplistic (the building) compared to what we are trying to do.  The tutorial mentions some videos, that go into more detail, but I couldn't find any video files.

Would it be possible to get some more advanced tutorials, that deal with more complex buildings? Or can I send you through what I have for this project, and you guys take a look, and give some suggestions?

Right now we are trying desperately to use Photogrametry over Lidar laser scanning (what we are use to), it would be great to see this succeed, as I am sure it can.

Regards

Matt

Hello Matt,

It could be a distortion pb ... Have you tried to modify in the camera devices the distortion parameter to Variable or constant ?

As we talk about buildings, do you set calibration corners ? (right angle)
If not, this could help getting a good calibration.
Not nessessary to set more than 3 right angles : one per

If you still don't succeed, send your data, and we will have a look...

Best,

Stef
