I would really appreciate some help with this.
I have just modelled my first object with great help from the DVgarage tutorial and I'd like to think that I've grasped the basics, even though I'm not very good at putting them into practice yet - you know the problems - corners never seem to match up, poor photographs etc. Anyway, I'm trying to texture my house and i get the error

One or more faces have zero area. Aborting texture extraction.

This seems to happen on faces that I have extruded to build things such as the porch roof and roof of the house. My DVgarage tutor was OK when he did the same.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Regards
John

Hi John,

When you use the "Smart edge display" do you see something wrong in your model ?
In this display mode:
- dotted edges are sharing two faces, and are soft edges.
- straight edges are sharing two faces, but are sharp for extraction and lightning
- bold straight edges belongs only to one face

If you see bold edges where you meant they should share 2 faces, delete the involved faces and recreate them.

Send your project to support@realviz.com so we can isolate the problem.

Thanks,

Stef
