» » Jashwa | Hi all,
Here ill explain my problem in IM. Try to help me to getrid of that. Thanks in advance.
I have a calibrated scene.it was made by 4 photographs. From that i got a 3d model and i increased the number of vertices in another software. Now i want to import the 3d model into the existing calibrated scene and wanted to extract the texture. Im a newbie for this IM. Please give me the instructions how to go on and finish this work.
thanks in advance

stef | Hello,
I suggest you export it in .obj (Alias Wavefront OBJ) format and import it in IM again. IM imports rzi, obj, dxf; but I won't suggest dxf as it has poor topology descriptions.
If you didn't change the position while editing in your modeling software, the imported object should arrive well placed in the calibrated scene (Answer no, when IM asks you if you want to place it with the Integration tool).
Else, use the integration tool while importing the obj file, and select 3 source vertices and 3 target vertices to get the object placed correctly and at scale.
Hope it helps,

Jashwa | Hi Stef,
Thanks for your reply.
As you said i exported as .obj and imported into IM.
I didnt change the postion in the other modelling software.
The problem is im using IM 3.5 it doesnt have the integration tool. so tired to arrange the model mapping with the photos using move, rotate and scale options. But in two photos its matching but not in the rest two.
could you give some more suggestions how to go on frm here?
thanks in advance

stef | We added the integration tool in IM4.0 especially for that. There is no simple way in IM3.5.
But, this is what I would try (there might be other solutions):
1) Import. 2) Select Object Mode for selection. 3) Activate Snap tool. 4) Try to snap one of the vertices of your imported object onto its correct destination (i.e. a locator, another vertices already created, a plane , ...).
5) Move the pivot onto this vertex (the one snapped)
6) Now do your rotation, scale to fit the entire object.
Hope it helps,
