Greetings,

I am looking to purchase IM, but I have a question I can't answer with the current demo.
due to NO export..

Let's say I want to model a potato in IM using a series of detailed photos,
and then, I want to export it to Lightwave3d.
Is the photo texture exported with the object? as what? jpg? tga?
is that texture a UV, or an unwraped cylinder (lat/long)? or?

Getting a texture map to Lightwave is important to me.

I know very little about IM, sorry.
I don't want to spend a lot of money on software only find it
doesn't work as expected.

thanks,

Hello,

The potato is exported with the textures (images saved in a project_TX folder) with the uv mapping for each textures generated.
The choice for the texture/image format is JPG or TGA.

Best,

Stef

Cool, Sounds like it will do, what I need..!

Is there a limit to how many photos (various angles of original object) are used to create the new texture map?

Thanks Stef !

No, there is no limit (only your memory) for the number of photographs that contribute to the texture .
The resulting texture is blended between all the calibrated shots.
The contribution of a shot will depend on several parameters, including position/orientation vs vertex/face to texture, and area of the projection.
You can also select by hand a subset or only one photograph, for the texture extraction.
