» » quizzy | Been playing with imagemodeler for some time now. A few things that I would like to share:
BUGS:
- Undo-ing split-face function not always working. I end up with very strange geometry.
- While splitting a face the axis and edge cross-section is not working; only sometimes.
- Merging two objects makes the move/rotate/scale pivot/axis disappear.
- transform values in the scene browser are not being updated when I select objects.
- I always need my ALT-button in combination with my middle mouse-button to pan and zoom
- Working-plane "User defined" is not working.
- Adding Calibration points makes my excisting geometry going nuts. It places the geometry at totally different locations.
- Can not use blanks in the naming of objects when exporting to OBJ with textures.
WISHES:
- User-defined keyboard shortcuts for all functions, like move/rotate/scale and more...
- Make a Triangulate faces option in the obj exporter.
- Better error handling when modelling, warnings for "Patch unfold error" and "Zero extrude error"
- DirectX support not only OpenGL.
- Adding custom objects as buttons in the GUI
- More standard views, like top/front/left etc...
- Boolean function (saw that mentioned in the forum somewhere before)
Well, much more to come. Not trying to be an ass but was this version ever extensively beta-tested? For the calibration and the texturing it really does a great job, but the modelling section lacks a lot.
my hardware and software:
ImageModeler 4.0.3 (build 15745)
Dual-Quad@1.86Ghz
4 GB RAM
QuadroFX 3500
Win XP Professional 64bit edition.
PS If you need a beta-tester for future releases, sign me up.... |
quizzy | This post to be edited in the future..
Additional bugs:
- During texturing: Once one object has the unfold patch error, all objects after that give the same error.
Additional wishes:
- Select inverted, on object/face/edge/vertex level.
- Reference objects. Changing one object changes the referenced objects as well.
- Array tool. Copying objects into an array. |

quizzy | maybe Autodesk's acquisition of Realviz will make the support work and get an answer to my forum post?? Or should I just send this to the support email?? |
stef | Hello Quizzy,
Bugs have to be sent at support email, for sure.
This forum is not the support front end, but dedicated to discussions and user experiences.
The requests for new features and improvements are fine here to share with others, but can also be sent at support for a more formal request.
Your feedback is interresting for us and helps developping the new versions of the products.
Best,
Stef |
quizzy | okay.. the bug-list is dropped in the support pipeline..
