Hello

We are producing made to measure shirts and suits and we are looking into cost-effective solutions for a "body scanner".

I am looking for a software solution to get the body measurements (in the sense of a "2D-Body Scanner" with a digital camera)... I am wondering if anybody has already experience in doing this ImageModeler...

So the usage situation would be as follows:

Fixed installation of a digicam in a showroom.
The person to be measured would be photographed on a fixed position on a white or blue background...

how precice  is it possible to get the measures aferwards (for example the legnth of the sleeves).

Thanks for your hints.

Best regards,
Martin.

mmmmm, i'd say not very precise. But can be reasonably accurate if you do everything correctly.

I think the biggest problem is the placing of points is very subjective, it is difficult to be on the same pixel everytime.

So if you dont mind being a centimeter out then give it ago, if not then i feel it wouldnt be the best option, or you will have to create a process that keeps the accuracy.

Plus you are from a fixed position imagemodeller needs at least 2 positions.

An 'easy' (not really the word) way to do this would be to get a projector to project a grid of lines or dots on a person being measured and set up three cameras to take the pictures. Front / 60 degree right / 60 degree left.

Then get the person to turn their back and do the same three shots.

Ensure there is a fixed length target in shot to calibrate from.

This will allow an accurate model to be constructed and calibrated

Happy New Year!
