| IŽve had the same problems with the REALVIZ box demo tutorial. I have realtime calibration on and my calibration points stay grey. even if I try to do it manually it doesnŽt work. weirdest thing is that if you load the calibration step for the tutorial it has all of the points calibrated. Mine stay grey all the time. IŽve tried it on win 2000,XP and 98.
is this a demo limit??am I forgetting any crucial steps?
cheers |
| Hello Stefan !
Well, I have the same Problem with the Demo and IŽve tested it on Win 2000 and XP.
Yes, itŽs right - the Locators points stay grey - only if I load the tutorial-file the callibration does work.
PLEASE HELP US - if the Demo doesnŽt work - I cant test it really.
thank you so much to all friendly helpers,
rb |
| There was another thread before: please send us a file - - sorry, I canŽt save files in the demo !!!
who can save files in the Demo ? Please let me know ?
I canŽt believe ....

| Hello,
do you put your Locators being in Step 2 ?
If you are in Step 3, the points you create are not calibration points, only modelisation.
I guess it is the problem.
regards |
| Dear RealViz Team !
Well weŽve tried it again - and we leave running our pc, cause the demo is limited to work.
Please tell us what can be wrong ?
We follow step by step the tutorial, but the locators and the calibration seems not to work - yes, sorry, it doesnŽt work.
what else can we do ?
which steps or settings can be wrong ?
step by step what we do.
1. Step
We load the 4 images from the tutorial getting started
2. Callibrate Cameras
Here we set the locators. For that we click the Place Markers and set the first point on a corner from the box. After the first click the locator is shown in a grey color (browser on the left side). we set it on image one, two, three and four.
after this,
--> we click right mouse button on the grey locator and choose "add locator"
--> the second locator will be set
--> we do that for all other locators again
And all happens in step 2. After the locators are all set, we press the callibrate button.
What happens? Nothing !!!
In the settings we have chosse: use progressive callibration.
Step 3:
is far away.
so please tell us, what we are doing wrong ?
we canŽt find other instructions in the tutorial.
thank you for your help and special greetings to the realviz team,
rb |
| Well, the camera shots are also grey, but shouldnŽt they be green which which is meaning that the whole project is calibrated ?
But how can we do that --> callibrating the project ?
We use the images from the getting started tutorial.
Thank you so much,
rb |
| Hello,
Instead of creating the markers with --> we click right mouse button on the grey locator and choose "add locator"
try --> Ctrl+left click to create a new calibration marker (the cursor becomes green when creating a new marker, and white when placing an existing marker in another shot)
It is in the tutorial, but may be not clearly enough (see how Locator_2 is created).
Unfortunatly the "add locator" in the menu creates only modelisation locators and not calibration markers ;-( . Hope it helps

| Well, it sems to be that IŽm doing all right, but it doenst work.
grrrr.....
okay, now we set the locator with ctrl+left click --> the same effect, the Locator is grey, and the callibration doesnŽt work.
well, there are only 2 stupid steps, but I cantŽdo it - outsch.
that hurts really, but I donŽt know what we doing wrong here - my boss makes me angry..... please help,
thank you so much
rb |
| CTRL+LEFT CLICK WORKS ONLY IN STEP 1
but, I canŽt get residual pixel values.
if I set the locators in the same way like I did in step 1, the locators are colored grey.
what IŽm doing wrong - we all donŽt know, that canŽt be.
weŽve tried all possibilities we have in this tool, but it doenst work.
PLEASE HELP,
rb |
| Well, if we load the Step2 callibrated camera from the getting started tutorial, there is an World Space Object. In Step 1 it doenst exist - also on the locators point we can see orange lines.
this is another thing which doesnŽt happen when we are testing.
the loaded images, are in the step2 file with a green border - and that is another point we are missing in our tests.
so we donŽt know - nobody knows why we have such troubles - we canŽt believe and donŽt know whatŽs the problem.
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE REALVIZ TEAM CAN MAKE US A STEP BY STEP CLICK TUT FOR DUMMIES ?
What we are doing that it doesnŽt work: Step 1: Start a project
File--> Load Image
Step 2: Callibrate Cameras
Place Marker-->we set the first locator in the first image (the locator has a green border on the image view and the locator is shown grey in the browser on the left side)
we set the locator on the second, third and fourth image. we go to the first image-->we press CTRL+Click on the left mouse button
a second locator is shown in the browser, he is also grey
-->the second locator (marker) on the first image has a green border-->we set this marker on the second, third and fourth image-->the markers colour is white over the images.
--> we do that for all locators in step 2.
we set on each point a marker - nothing happens.
the locators in the browser on the left side are grey all the time, and the loaded images are grey, and the markers on the edges have no orange line drawing away.
--> we think we should press the F9 to callibrate-->we do it.
--> nothing happened
--> we write here in the forum and hope to get the answer
--> we didnŽt
-->we think weŽll jump from the window - hehe
SO PLEASE - HELP US TO GET IT
thank you soo much,
rb |
| Hello,
well let's start from the beginning:
step 1:
load your images, 4 to begin.
go to the preferences and check the 'use progressive calibration'
like this the calibration will start by itself as soon as it gets enough points
step2:
put 1st locator in the 1st image (Left Mouse)
put is also in the other images (LM)
put a 2nd locator in the 1st image (Ctrl - LM)
put it also in the other images (LM)
do it as long as the calibration doesn't start automatically
be careful to put your points exactly at the same places in the images
it SHOULD START AUTOMATICALLY
you don't have to press F9 if the preferences are checked.
so ?
BTW: what do you mean by
'we set on each point a marker - nothing happens'
is it something else than the locator put by CTRL-LM/LM ? |
| Hello RealViz Team !
We made it - and we know now what the Problem was.
We made all correct - yes, so it was not possible to find a mistake.
What we didnŽt know: That it is a must, to set a lot of locators to get an automatic callibration.
Well, we set 7 locators (some with 3 and some with 4 points).
But the 7 Locators wasnŽt enough.
Yes, we have to set 9 Locators - and we couldnŽt believe, if we had set the 9. Locator and the 3rd marker the callibration starts to run.
Okay, thatŽs all - we didnŽt set enough Locators !!!!
Realviz-Team thank you for your help and informations !!!
rb
p.s.: and sorry for my bad english ..... |
| What difference does it make as long as you have more than 7 -locators.Well, it sems to be that we are doing all right, but it doenst work. Our shots are ok.So what's up with the calib?.Our office is located on the 15th floor and we are trying to be cooool, see!.
we think weŽll jump from the window - hehe. REALVIZ TEAM WE NEED YIUR ASSISTANCE in archieving calib. issues. |
