adding additional images

I have a whole bunch of images from one location. So far I have registered eight pictures fairly well.

Is there any way to add another image and register it (i.e. calculate the camera), so the other cameras won\'t be touched? Or do I have to recalculate all other cameras every time I add a new image to the project?

Thanks!

Hello,

You have to recalculate all other cameras every time you add a new image to the project.

It depends of what do you want to made but perhaps you don\'t need all images ?

Anyway if your calibration is good, it is not a problem to recalibrate
every time you add an image.

Merci Pierre,

wouldn\'t it make sense to have an option which allows to re-register a single image? So all the other cameras remain locked but only the new camera is adjusted so it fits into the whole arrangement?

Yes, it is a problem. IF I have a set of calibrated images, then start to create additional helper points for generating my 3D geometry, then start extracting textures and realize that I need one more image, then insert another image and recalbirate all, THEN all cameras are moved slightly and thus the 3D geometry doesn\'t align to my helper points anymore precisely. :(

When you make a new project you HAVE TO calibrate all images before you start 3D construction and modeling.

Hope it helps. :)

PS: when you recalibrate a new image, IM make a new 3D environment, that why your 3D geometry move.

Yes, I understand that first I have to calibrate all images before I can start 3D reconstruction. That\'s how I work.

But while I am modelling my 3D geometry in ImageModeller, I realize that just one more image might help me a lot. So I insert a new image - et voilá: all of my cameras are moved, and all of my geometry doesn\'t line up with my helpers anymore. So I can throw it all away and start 3D reconstruction over again. :(

There should be an option to lock already existing cameras IMHO.

well, that should be added to the wish list, it would be cool.

It would also be cool if it would realign my existing geometry in this case, since I used markers to make the geometry originally, couldn't it snap my geometry to the new locations?
